I need to buy new jeans y'all what are you...
I can’t afford, like hundred dollar jeans so while I’m sure they are awesome no.
What jeans do you guys wear/like/find wear well?
I mostly wear skinny jeans. And my butt is fairly flat, so those ones with the large difference between waist and hip? Look stupid. Low rise is good, but 6 inches is pushing it. I’m happier with 6 1/2 or 7 inches.
Any suggestions?
I keep...

Why you want one: It’s kind of intoxicating to be around someone this smart and serious. It’s really sexy for as long as you can go without getting compliments/any affirmation that they like you back. Spoiler Alert: Oblivious misers. Where to find one: Home alone, reading something really interesting, generally not giving a fuck. Pickup technique: Figure out what they’re...

Things that make me laugh
Self Help books. All of them. But mostly their titles.
Stop Giving Obstacles Permission To Roadblock Your Goals.
Wot?
Here let me tell you something. If I’m driving down the road, on my way to Seattle, and I cross some mountain passes, and it’s night time and giant boulder rolls off the mountain and onto the road?
I am not giving the obstacle permission to roadblock my goal.
The...

Missing the Point

Yeeeah. I think you missed the point.
Again with the unsolicited advice on language policing. I don’t subscribe to blanket language/word policing. Arbitrary word is arbitrary, and I don’t play that game.
I see many words in that list that have racist etymology. ‘Abnormal’ is an acceptable replacement for...

Ok. The same person just reblogged my Chelsea...
Is there anything I can do about this?
She’s putting them in the titles of the posts, so that it looks like it’s my warning, not hers. I am fucking LIVID.
LIVID.
I wrote a nice note about changing the twitter post and removing the warning and placing it somewhere else so that it can clearly understood as commentary based on her opinion, but, I am like
Really pissed off....

did someone honestly put a warning on your post?
Yes. Yes they honestly did that and then addressed me personally for using the words dumb and idiot. They suggested motherfuckers as an alternative. Motherfuckers. As an alternative. Like I said, Ammo don’t play that game, so. Uh. Ticket rejected, I guess?

you ‘aren’t happy’ about my use of the words ‘idiot’ and ‘dumb’ because it’s ‘ableist’. But ‘motherfuckers’ is ok. Says you.
I don’t know if anyone noticed but I’m not down (understatement of the year) with language policing or the self-appointed language cops who hand out the tickets, so. yeah.
Thanks for your...

on 'twitter revolutions'
I think what offends and angers me about people holding the idea that twitter is ‘responsible’ for the Egyptian situation is twofold: Firstly, it’s provably false so to treat the idea with anything more than passing interest is ludicrous, but more importantly it smacks of what’s old is new again; A re-invention of imperialism/ colonialism dressed up in apps and gadgetry....

Humans Have a lot more than five senses. →
Today I found out humans have a lot more than five senses. It turns out, there are at least nine senses and most researchers think there are more like twenty-one or so. Just for reference, the commonly held definition of a “sense” is “any system that consists of a group of sensory cell types that respond to a specific physical phenomenon and that corresponds to a particular group of regions...

So in a fit of boredom, I just peeked back at my first week of posts. Do you know I posted about? Snow, my new puppy, and Target wine cubes.
Nothing changes, everything stays the same.
Witness: My first post (which was in May 2008 for the love of god). The second. The third.
I think those three posts, just those three, pretty neatly summarize me as a person.

This will be my last immigration post of the night
But VisaJourney is literally a lifeline for thousands of new and hopeful Americans. No one I talked to this whole time (save Snafu, and maybe a couple other people I’ve met since) had any idea of what was involved in the process, no matter what country they came from, it’s just not something people generally think about. Or consider. Or understand or know how to begin to understand....

Because almost everyone who applied in October at the California Service center and are tracking their progress on VisaJourney (important website could not have done it without them) is approved and have their cards in hand.
Everyone who applied at the same time but submitted to the Vermont Service Center, is still waiting.
