I’ve noticed that some people on the internet (whether its Gawker boards or WoW forums or here) just live to argue.  Like they just wait around and they’ll argue about anything.

Literally anything to do with everything.  They jump on the smallest or largest of issues.  A missed comma or a racist remark.

And I’ve come to realize that’s why no one listens to them or takes much of what they say seriously, because they are freaking out about everything all. the. time.   There’s no way to determine the severity or importance of the argument because they will argue to the death about everything from the misspelling of the word ‘weird’ to the realities of sexism in the workplace.

Chances are they’re like this in real life too.  Constantly contrary, always criticizing, not picking or choosing their battles.  Not realizing that being vocal is remarkable in it’s absence. Right?  I mean if you’re always marching around screaming about every damn thing, how can we know what to listen to?  Eventually we just tune all of it out.

Chances are they think no one wants to listen to some of the very legitimate issues they champion and some of the very real concerns they have, but I think in many cases it’s just that no one wants to listen to them.  Again.
